On May 18, 2017, President Donald Trump initiated the countdown for NAFTA renegotiations triggering a 90-day wait period before negotiations begin on August 16, 2017. Hedgeye is previewing key provisions of NAFTA the Trump Administration may seek to renegotiate prior to an expected report by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on July 17th.

Our speaker will be John Murphy – the Senior Vice President for International Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Washington’s most influential business advocacy organization.

John Murphy directs the U.S. Chamber’s advocacy relating to international trade and investment policy. Since joining the Chamber in 1999, he has led its successful campaigns to win congressional passage of trade agreements with a dozen nations, including Colombia, Panama, and South Korea in 2011, as well as Trade Promotion Authority in 2015. John also plays a key role in the Chamber’s advocacy for international business priorities before Congress, the Administration, foreign governments, and the World Trade Organization.
