what is going on with Trulieve?

Last week, Tim Mullany resigned from his position as Trulieve's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) just 10 days after being appointed to the position. The press release says that Mr. Mullany quit due to personal reasons. Prior to being at Trulieve, he served as head of finance at Jack in the Box. In June, former CFO, Alex D'Amico, resigned from the same position, meaning that Trulieve has lost two CFOs in less than one month. Ryan Blust, who is a Trulieve insider, was named as interim CFO while the company searches for a suitable replacement. The fact that the company has lost two CFOs in less than a month is a very bad sign for the company and supports our call to remove Trulieve as a Best Idea Long earlier in the year.

Will adult-use make the Florida ballot?

Last month, we wrote about how an advocacy group, spearheaded by Trulieve, collected enough signatures in Florida to put adult-use cannabis legislation on the ballot for the next election. Florida's Attorney General, Ashley Moody (R), whose office is seeking to invalidate the cannabis measure, is now requesting a one-week extension from the court. The Attorney General has already requested and was granted a two-week extension which ends on Wednesday. Florida will continue to fight this initiative, but time and desire is not on their side.
