AYR In Massachusetts.

Ayr Wellness (AYRWF) announced earlier this week that they will begin adult-use sales at their Somerville, MA, retail location, which had already been open for medical sales. The dispensary is located in one of the most densely populated areas of Boston and is easily accessed via the Davis Square Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“T”) stop. Ayr’s retail footprint in Massachusetts now includes AYR Back Bay serving adult-use consumers; AYR Watertown and Sira Naturals Somerville, which serves both medical patients and adult-use consumers; and Sira Naturals Needham serving medical patients. "We are excited to add adult-use sales to our Somerville location, introducing our portfolio of high-quality branded products to more cannabis consumers, as we continue to serve our loyal medical patients at this location,” said Jonathan Sandelman, Founder and CEO of Ayr. “We are grateful to our neighbors in Somerville, who have been phenomenal partners from the first day Sira Naturals opened to serve medical patients in 2017. We look forward to further strengthening our place in the community and being a force for good in Somerville.”

Rhode Island Sales.

Tomorrow, Rhode Island is set to open up its adult-use cannabis market. Rhode Island legalized adult-use cannabis back in May and had targeted December 1st for their first sales. “Orders of magnitude more quickly than any other state in the Northeast has done it. We're very happy about that,” says Matt Santacroce, interim deputy director of Rhode Island’s Department of Business Regulation and head of its Office of Cannabis Regulation. It will take some time to see how efficient some of their policies are for creating a sustainable industry, but no one can deny how swiftly Rhode Island was able to get this up and running. This is state should be a good example for the four states that legalized cannabis during the November elections.
