Next week we will be hosting our monthly Q&A as well as going through industry trends which includes but is not limited to a continued slow in sales due to price destruction within the industry. Take Maryland for example, in the month of June their medical sales were $41M which is MoM decline of 3% and a YoY decline of 9%. This is an improvement from May, which saw a MoM decline of 8% and a YoY decline of 10%. When we look at Marylands product volume, it saw a MoM increase of 2% in June which implies a MoM decrease of 5% in terms of price per product sold in the month.

Yesterday, the governor of Connecticut, Ned Lamont, tweeted out that the state is six months away from launching adult-use cannabis sales in the state. Shortly after, the state panel started approving the first cannabis cultivator licensed by designating over a dozen applicants as having met the requirements for their social equity program.

House Representative from Colorado, Ed Perlmutter, for the second year in arrow filed an amendment to adding cannabis banking to their Nation Defense Act (NDAA). He spoke about the SAFE Banking Act yesterday during House Rules Committee. “I’m trying to figure out every path possible to get this thing done so that fewer people are killed,” Perlmutter said, referring to deadly robberies at cash-intensive dispensaries. “And this does involve international cartels, so that really is the nexus to the NDAA, the criminal international component to this.” This might be the last chance to get some sort of cannabis legislative through to the finish line before the September recess and the November elections.
