Canada’s federal health department told MJBizDaily that proposed changes to regulations that would effectively increase the amount of cannabis beverage consumers could purchase at any one time by more than eightfold aren’t expected to be ready until fall – at the earliest. The Canadian cannabis market is a mess in terms of regulations, but this segment of the industry seemed to be one of the easier issues to fix and is widely wanted. “I can’t think of any stakeholder across the cannabis supply chain, from producers to retailers, that would be pushing back against this regulation,” said Paul Weaver, head of cannabis at Boston Beer Co. mjbizdaily.com

According to a recent study that analyzed insurance data from 2014-2019, auto insurance premiums decreased following the legalization of cannabis in those states. “It found that premiums dropped by about $22 per year on average after states enacted legalization—and the study authors think that may have something to do with reduced drunk driving in those states, signaling a possible substitution effect whereby people switch from alcohol to cannabis.” There are conflicting studies on whether or not cannabis increases your risk as a driver, with many recent studies indicating “no significant impact” on driving ability when smoking CBD rich cannabis. marijuanamoment.net
