CA LARGEST DECLINE EVER.

California retail sales for April were up 6% on a MoM basis, which is a deceleration from being up 9% on a MoM basis in March. What should be highlighted here, though, is that April saw a -12% YoY decline compared to a -11% YoY drop in March, which was the most significant decline seen in California since going recreational in 2018. California has another month ahead of them of very tough comps, and comps don't get significantly easier until September.

CO IS STILL IN THE TOILET.

Colorado retail sales haven't been in the green on a YoY basis for 11 months. In the month of April, retail sales decelerated on a MoM basis to 3% from 12% in March. The good news, if you can call it that, is that on a YoY basis, it accelerated to -19% compared to being down -22% in March.

PA - NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

Since March of 2021, there really hasn't been much growth or destruction in the Pennsylvania retail sales market. In March of 2022, retail sales rebounded by being up 13% MoM but down 3% on a YoY basis. The month of April saw a -2% MoM decline and a -5% YoY decline. All told, there is no line of sight for this market to move past these stagnated results until full legalization.
