Vegas Cannabis Lounges

Several Vegas dispensaries are generating plans for their new Cannabis lounges, which the state approved a few months back. These come from the necessity of a place to consume cannabis legally. In addition, tourists realized that the hotels they were staying at would not allow marijuana consumption on-premise and would only be able to at their private residences. Cannabis lounges would alleviate this issue. For example, Planet 13, the largest cannabis dispensary by size, plans to convert its 20,000 sq. Ft. warehouse on West Desert Inn Road to a lounge. In addition, several companies have plans to add dining and entertainment to the lounges to make it an experience. “We want to make something that people can travel to, something like a club concept,” VP of Sales for Planet 13 said. “We know the pressure is on us to build something special.” The first lounges are expected to open in 2022 and will lead to more consumption and revenues for the state and attract individuals who wouldn't have otherwise consumed to partake.

Green Thumb VA Location

Green Thumb announced it would open Rise Salem, the company's first location in the state located in Salem, VA. This will be Green Thumb's 60th store nationwide and will open today. Profits from the first day of sales will be donated to a local non-profit organization. “We are excited to open the first Rise™ location in Virginia and our first store in a southeastern state,” said Green Thumb Founder and Chief Executive Officer Ben Kovler. “As cannabis acceptance sweeps the country, we are honored to expand our retail footprint and to be the first medical cannabis dispensary in the Roanoke region. We look forward to meeting more community members and introducing them to the Rise™ retail experience.” Virginia is one of the most valuable states to operate in as they currently have 5 active licenses, no that is not a typo. With recreational sales starting sometime in the next few years (VA Gov. has been trying to expedite this), Green Thumb will be well-positioned to convert this location to both recreational and medical when the time comes. But until then, this store will have strong patient demand.
