Pure Sunfarms is Canada's Top Flower Brand

VFF is a Canada long.

Pure Sunfarms is the top-selling flower brand in the three major markets in Canada: Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. It has been the top-selling flower brand by sales since its launch in October 2019 in Ontario, Canada's largest province by population. This is attributed to Pure Sunfarm's focus on providing a value brand of cannabis to consumers who are begging for pricing that competes with the illicit market. Pure Sunfarm can offer competitive pricing from their competitive advantage in greenhouse technology. 2/3rds of Village Farm's business is growing and selling tomatoes from similar greenhouses. Since cannabis cannot be grown outdoors in Canada, greenhouses are the cheapest alternative, and Village Farms has it down from its experience with tomatoes. Pure Sunfarms is also expanding its value-based cannabis offerings to meet consumer demand by launching Blue Dream, a popular West Coast strain. “As the leading brand of dried flower in Canada, we seek to provide consumers with a variety of products they’ll love at an everyday premium,” said Mandesh Dosanjh, President & CEO, Pure Sunfarms. “Blue Dream rounds out our flower portfolio with its popularity and deep West Coast origins.”

CA Pot Raid

The illicit market in California is still very prevalent, although it is very slowly shrinking. Federal agents took down 205 illegal cannabis farms last month in the Antelope Valley. They seized $1.2 Billion worth of illegal marijuana. Authorities said they arrested 131 people who had ties to Mexican, Armenian, and Chinese drug cartels. The operation was the largest in the district's history, involving more than 400 employees. Several killings and violent incidents were tied to these farms. A spokesperson from the sheriff's department said cartel members fought each other and threatened residents. With authorities cracking down on such illegal operations, it is expected the licensed marijuana market in California has stronger sales.
