On Tuesday’s Hedgeye House Call, we will cover:
- GDRX Moving to the Long Bench | We have been expecting a recovery in medical consumption as medical consumers return to in- person care. While we are seeing evidence of growth consumption accelerating in places, it has been slow to develop and uneven. Where cancer testing is ramping for many labs and physical therapy trends are improving, we do not see the same for GoodRx search trends, the prescription drug quantity index, or physician office hiring. For this reason, we have chosen to move the idea down to the long bench.
- AMWL Claims & Provider Tracker | Following our note to cover AMWL, we have received a number of client questions concerning a potential data catalyst for the recovery. When we moved the name to the short bench, we thought downside was limited in the short- term and there was not a clear catalyst in the short term. Nonetheless, our tracker and claims updates through 2Q21 continues to show incremental customer churn and negative telehealth utilization.
- Weekly MicroQuad Update - GH | In the midst of the recovery, the MicroQuad screener identified cancer screening companies as a point of focus by listing the basket in the top 20. We heeded this signal and did the work to move NEO over the line followed by the addition of NVTA to our Long Bench. Despite a delayed release of the pent- up demand we have measured, we believe it will need to come through the system in 2H21.
