CALL REPLAY | The Election of 2020: Pandemic, Protests, and Polls - Election virus guy

You're invited to join me for a conversation with JT Taylor, Hedgeye's Chief Political Strategist. Together we discuss the state of the November elections and the possibility of another stimulus package.

With November less than five months away, the race for the White House is heating up. While COVID had already disrupted regular campaigning, mass protests over the death of George Floyd have thrown another giant imponderable into the presidential and congressional races. At the moment, it is clearly benefiting the Democrats. Several previously overlooked states have turned into battlegrounds for November. Yes, the Democratic takeover of Congress is in play. We discuss what states you should be watching to assess the odds of whether the Republicans will maintain control of the Senate.

On the policy front, the end of CARES Act stimulus threatens to leave the US economy speeding off the edge of a cliff. While Republicans had been silent on passing another stimulus package, it seems they are now ready to deal. While nothing would be passed before July 4, we discuss what this legislation could look like and its political consequences.
