EVENT | The Election of 2020: Pandemic, Protests & Polls

TODAY, JUNE 17TH, 2020 AT 10:00AM ET

Join JT Taylor, head of Macro Policy, and world-renowned demographer Neil Howe for a conversation today at 10:00am EST where they will discuss the state of the November elections and the possibility of another stimulus package.

With Election Day 2020 less than five months away, the race for the White House is heating up. While COVID had already disrupted regular campaigning, mass protests over the death of George Floyd have thrown another giant imponderable into the presidential and congressional races. At the moment, it is clearly benefiting the Democrats. Several previously overlooked states have turned into battlegrounds for November and, yes, the Democratic takeover of Congress is in play. We will discuss what states you should be watching to assess the odds of whether the Republicans will maintain control of the Senate.

On the policy front, the end of CARES Act stimulus threatens to leave the U.S. economy speeding off the edge of a cliff. While Republicans had been silent on passing another stimulus package, it seems they are now getting ready to deal. While nothing will be passed prior to July 4 recess, we'll discuss what this legislation could look like and its political consequences.
