Overview
MD | UNH kicked MD out of its networks in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas last week. The move raises eyebrows because the contracts were not being negotiated. While it is easy to assign blame to MD and the rates charged their physicians, we think it is more likely a dispute between UNH and a highly concentrated hospital market.
THC | Tenet will report after the close. The forecast algorithms have been working well and the utilization continues to appear solid across providers. We will update the THC algorithm along with HCA, LH/DGX, and UHS with the next update of the input data.
