On a recent episode of The Macro Show, a viewer asked Hedgeye Financials analyst Josh Steiner how he analyzes a bank’s balance sheet. The viewer lamented that balance sheets tend to look similar to one another and are thus hard to dig into.

“You obviously want to look at equity capitalization on a risk-weighted basis, as well as on a non-risk-weighted basis,” Steiner explains in the clip above. “Another thing to look is the composition of funding.”
