Veteran Hedgeye retail analyst Brian McGough went bearish on Nike (NKE) recently.

However, despite the increasing international headwinds, ongoing internal organizational problems, and a “false bottom” in earnings, there is something brewing that could potentially save the swoosh:

Say hello to Amazon (AMZN).

While their partnership has yet to work out all of its kinks, McGough says the growth Amazon could provide, if properly executed, could be enough to soften his bearish NKE call slightly.

“I think it’ll sell into Amazon on a wholesale model,” McGough says in the clip above.

“It won’t count growth on Amazon as part of its e-com business, Nike will carry the inventory risk – which will be bearish – but it’ll get growth again.”
