Don't Freak Out! We're in the 3rd Longest Expansion in U.S. History

In two weeks, the current domestic expansion will be in its 104^th month. That would make it 2-months shy of the 2^nd longest expansion in history and 16-months shy of the longest ever. 

Before you freak out...

Australia hasn’t had a recession in 26-years.  That’s 312 months.

Is the U.S. going to have a 26 year expansion? No, but there have plenty of economic indicators to suggest that the U.S. economy will continue accelerating (from the lows of 2Q 2016) heading into early 2018. Look at 5-year highs in Retail Sales, or 204-month highs in Consumer Confidence, or 10-year highs in New Home Sales etc etc...   .
