One week after troubling reports of more than 100 customers getting sick after eating at a Virginia Chipotle, rats literally fell from the ceiling in one of the company’s Dallas stores.
Key takeaway: The woes of this beleaguered burrito chain, first plagued by a norovirus outbreak in 2016, are far from over.
“It speaks to the overarching management issues that Chipotle is having,” says Restaurants analyst Shayne Laidlaw in the video above from The Macro Show.
“They’ve lost control of a lot of their stores. I think this is probably just a surface level issue, but dig deeper and there’s a lot more beneath the surface.”
