Join us for a special call to preview the next OPEC meeting on May 25 with the former Algerian Energy Minister Chakib Khelil who also twice served as the President of OPEC.
The top of the agenda at the May 25 OPEC meeting is a decision whether or not to extend the production cut agreement thru the rest of 2017. It appears OPEC is coalescing around a decision to renew but until it is final you cannot rule out a decision not to extend as well as any new provisions or even surprises.
Minister Khelil will take us inside the OPEC decision making process and discuss the following topics:
- His and OPEC’s view of current market conditions;
- Will Russia and other non-OPEC producers agree to renew their pledges;
- Role of Iran and Iraq;
- Outlook for Libya production and political situation; and
- Preview action OPEC will take at the next meeting and beyond.
The call will be hosted by Hedgeye Potomac Research Senior Energy Policy Analyst Joe McMonigle who will also be attending the next OPEC meeting.
