Takeaway: Fat reserves means naming your MLR in the short term but enrollment guide is not plausible and DCP is down and to the right

Replay | MOH: Navigating Medicaid Redeterminations Part II - 2023.03.29 MOH Invite

We continue adding to the Managed Care box set with a look at the implications of Medicaid redeterminations on MOH. Of the larger names, MOH is one of the weakest and their enrollment guidance makes little sense. Certainly, like CNC and HUM, they have stashed cash on their benefits payable line but DCP has turned south sharply the last several quarters, suggesting they will run through their reserves at a quick pace. Yes, there is a lot of flexibility to "name" their MLR but that will all have to come to an end sometime, like the back half of the year.
