Takeaway: Not enough movement for the large health care sector to support any dovish policies though

Chart of the Day | JOLTS: Still on the Backside of the Curve - 2023.03.08 Chart of the Day

Health care JOLTS data is a little bit like storm recovery here in Nashville; moving in a positive direction at a nearly imperceptible speed. Openings decreased to 1.894M in January from 1.899M in December.  Hires were virtually unchanged at 805k v 806k last month. Total separation declined from 736k in December to 690k in January.

As has been the case since mid-2022, health care continues to adapt to the new labor realities instead of embracing short term fixes like contract labor. Things should continue their trajectory as other sectors of the economy continue to loosen up.

Let me know your thoughts.
