Cannabis Insight | OR Sales, Monthly Q&A, MA - 12.14.1

Oregon Monthly cannabis trends.

In the month of November, Oregon sales came in at ~$75M, which represents a sequential decline of 5% and down 12.8% YoY. Most of Oregon's YoY sales decline comes from the decline in units sold, which were down 2.1% sequentially and down 8.6% YoY. Most states are seeing declining sales which are driven primarily by price decline and not unit volume decline. The average unit price is declining like the rest of the markets on the west coast. Pricing power was down 2.9% sequentially and down 4.6% YoY.

Massachusetts Drivers ed!

Next year, Massachusetts will become the first state that will have adult-use cannabis impairment lessons in its driver's education program. "The current driver education module addressing impaired driving will be updated to include research-based information on cannabis, explaining how tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active chemical in marijuana, affects cognition, vision, reaction time, and perception of time and distance," MassDOT officials said. Normalizing cannabis in our society and promoting a "safe high" is vastly important to our communities, so it is nice to see Massachusetts to continue to be a trail blazer in the space while the federal government continues to see cannabis as an illegal substance.
