This morning on The Call @ Hedgeye, REITs analyst Rob Simone addresses a fake email scam that told clients to “cover ASAP” his Medical Properties Trust (MPW) short.
“I want to start off by saying that I am not the owner of this account and neither is Hedgeye. This person, whoever they are, is not affiliated with myself or Hedgeye. Anyone who receives an email from this address should disregard,” says Simone.
“To be clear, we are still advocating short of MPW. As a matter of fact, after this incident (which is nothing less than fraudulent) my conviction has only increased that we are onto something here, and that it’s actually time to press the short.”
