Takeaway: We’ll highlight the latest on consumer income & spending, units per cap trends, housing retail reads, 2022 outlook and ticker speed dating.

On Thursday April 14th at 12:30pm EDT we’ll be hosting a call on key retail themes for 2Q 2022.  Consumer names have been under pressure.  We did a deep dive into the consumer P&L in early 2022 detailing why we are calling 2021 the 'Uncompable Year'.  On this Thursday, we’ll review the latest data points for consumer income and spending.  We’ll also highlight unit consumption/import data over the last couple years vs pre-pandemic to outline more subcategories that might have unique risks or opportunities.  In addition we’ll share some insights from our Macro and Housing teams on the setup for housing and how that translates to the outlook for home related retail.  Consensus earnings expectations remain high, and, with a handful of exceptions, management teams as of 4Q earnings season remain net bullish on the consumer.  We’ll explore some of those varying outlooks.

We’ll reserve some time at the end to run through a long list of tickers highlighting the thesis and our latest incremental thoughts around big investment opportunites long and short.
