In this clip from The Call @ Hedgeye, Healthcare analyst Will McMahon discusses a new article indicating ‘1 in 3 clinicians want to find a new position’ and elaborates on healthcare staffing, nurse shortages, and wage inflation with Hedgeye CEO Keith McCullough.

“This is not a position of ‘vaccines are here and the situation is getting better,’” notes McMahon. “It’s actually a situation of while some nurses are coming back because they’ve had time and they feel better, other nurses are saying ‘this is over and my job has gotten harder and I don’t know if I want to do this anymore.’”

“The nurse situation is getting worse. We are now hovering around 1% of nurses that are actually available that could join the workforce, the reason that’s relevant is especially in the mental health space unlike HCA, THC, or UHS that have benefited from COVID in the form of flex pricing, mental health facilities, like ACHC, cannot.”
