Call @10am ET | End of the COVID Gravy Train? Relief Funds, End of PHE + Timing - 20220315 Call

After reducing the White House's request from $22B to $15B, Congress declined to include any funding at all for COVID-19 relief in the FY 2022 omnibus spending bill. The provisions fell out of an argument over offsets for the new spending. Meanwhile, inflation continues. Anyone old enough to remember the 1970s knows that monetary policy alone will not "Whip Inflation Now" as Richard Nixon liked to stay. It is going to take fiscal restraint.

Those set of political and fiscal questions are arriving on Capitol Hill in time for what is sure to be the end of the Public Health Emergency and a reduction of money flowing into a health care sector already traumatized by labor and supply cost increases.

Join me as we go through the timing and implications of an end to the Public Health Emergency, including the use and exhaustion of Provider Relief Funds.
