To transform the clinical lab testing industry, which it most certainly found lacking in the spring of 2020, the federal government has streamlined the certification process, poured gazillions of dollars to increase capacity of equipment/consumables manufacturers, and indirectly support capital purchases through Provider Relief Funds and other mechanisms.

More on this on tomorrow. but in the face of the funding tsunami, it is hard to see how the large reference model is as durable as DGX might suggest.
