Takeaway: Join us as we help pave the way for your 4Q idea hunts in the unusually dynamic & uncertain new world for health care: DGX, HUM, TDOC, HCA

In an attempt to defy history and logic, the narrative writers - whoever "they" are - have attempted to forecast a future for health care that defies both history, logic and at least a passing understanding of human behavior. Instead of coming to grips with a health system that has been incrementally altered, the "thought leader'" talking points have swung between, "You cannot put the telehealth genie back in the bottle" (mostly true) to "The great reset gets us closer to universal health care" (mostly false.)

Like everything post COVID-19, the fragility of certain parts of the American health care system were laid bare and one way or another must adapt to a new reality of inflation, labor shortages, increasing acuity in both physical and mental health conditions, and supply chain disruptions. The beautiful thing about an emergency like COVID and the ensuing deluge of care demand is all the reasons to avoid adaptation and evolution have been dismissed and new approaches and modalities are being considered like never before. The mountains of cash in VC and PE funds are hard at work making that dream a reality.

It is still health care, nothing will happen overnight but multiyear secular shifts continue to emerge plus a few efforts to, in fact, put the genie back in the bottle.

It all makes the idea hunting for 4Q and beyond pretty interesting. So, please join us. We are going to have a lot of fun

We have a lot to discuss but topics will include:

  • Emerging policy concerns around telehealth flexibilities after the Public Health Emergency ends
  • Persistent labor shortages across care continuum
  • Inflation and when it is likely to make itself known
  • Bypassing payers in favor of consumer experience for a new demographic
  • High and rising acuity and impact on payers and providers
  • Reversal of Trump area policies that may make all these things worse.
  • The persistence and evolution of testing
