OH, on for 2022?

Ohio's uphill struggle to legalize cannabis use and sales have cleared a final hurdle on the path toward getting a proposal submitted to the state's legislature. After that, activists can begin collecting signatures for a 2022 ballot initiative to legalize cannabis.  The Ohio Ballot Board, a panel of legislative appointees led by Secretary of State Frank LaRose, voted Monday to approve the proposed statute from the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol (CTRMLA) as a single issue.  The decision means the group can begin gathering the nearly 133,000 valid signatures needed to submit the proposed state law to the Ohio legislature, which would then have four months to act on it and pass it as is. If it does not act, the measure would then be placed on the Ohio November 2022 ballot.

AYR Warrants

Ayr provided notice yesterday of the accelerated expiry of the Company’s share purchase warrants. In addition, the company announced an incentive exercise rights available to the holders of the Warrants who exercise their Warrants for cash. Ayr will be offering a C$0.75 incentive for the cash-only exercise of the issued and outstanding Warrants, which would result in gross proceeds to the Company of approximately US$55 million if all of the approximately 6.5 million issued and outstanding Warrants, other than the approximately 2.9 million founders’ warrants, are exercised thereunder.  The company will likely use the cash to fund the recently announced share repurchase program.
