Veteran Hedgeye Retail analyst Brian McGough warns in the clip above that many on Wall Street aren’t considering a major factor regarding the virus that could mean even worse news for retail stocks.
“So, you have these companies operating in China, and they all feel some kind of hit. But I care more about the secondary impact – and that’s happening to the workers at the factories right now,” McGough explains.
“It’s too early to be talking about holiday, but it’s not too early to be talking about summer, because those goods are being made right now. Those migrant workers who work at the factories aren’t there [because of the virus].
Their stuff is not being made…which is going to lead to sales misses in the back half of this year. I just don’t think goods are going to get here.”
