First things first, let’s put yesterday’s move into historical context. Going back to 1990, yesterday’s move in the VIX was the 2^nd largest single day move EVER. The VIX was +74%. 2/5/2018 +116%, 12/18/2024 +74%, 8/5/2024 +65%, 2/27/2007 +64%, 1/27/2021 +62%, 11/26/2021 +54%, 11/15/1991 +52%, 7/23/1990 +52%.
