In 2014, we were sick and tired of hearing narrative after narrative on "Old Wall" TV. We created The Macro Show for everyday investors looking for a better way to access real-time investable market analysis.

Track trends in stocks, commodities, currencies, and interest rates across the globe every morning before the market opens with former hedge fund veterans, Hedgeye CEO Keith McCullough and Director of Research Daryl Jones.

To help keep you Macro Aware, we've included video highlights from this week's key themes from The Macro Show. We’ve also transcribed brief excerpts to speed up your idea generation process.

Enjoy and have a great weekend.

U.S. Dollar vs. commodities

"You get crowding, you get consensus; you get people who don't understand the Quads, they're just chasing charts. I don't chase charts; I don't do those 50-day moving monkeys. Dollar down means everything else, particularly commodities, straight up."

Volatility

"The S&P has had 8 all-time highs in April, it's only April the 19th! 'Why, I need to know why!' Well, because the VIX was going to go towards 15; we told you that. You didn't have to know anything else. You don't need to know every single reason why, you need to know when."

The Russell 2000

"The Russell is a fantastic example; we rarely get examples like this where Russell Volatility (RVX) goes from the low end of the Risk Range towards the top end. I'd say 80% to maybe 99% of people who transact in markets (particularly those who are new to markets), have no idea what Russell Volatility is, nevermind where the trend is, or the volatility regime (or as I call it, the 'bucket') is. Moreover, and most importantly, they don't know where we're going towards - and we're going towards the Bull's Bucket."
