The State of Illinois released cannabis sales for January 2021. Things are slowing on the margin, but YoY trends remain very healthy. Illinois total cannabis sales totaled $121.484 million in January 2021, up 0.1% from December and up 93.9% from last year. Adult-use sales totaled $88.813 million, up 126.3% from a year ago and 2.3% from December.
Total approved medical cannabis applications have risen to 151,714 representing a 48.0% increase YoY, and a 1.4% increase MoM (below the 12-month trend of 3.4% growth).
Total retail sales of Medical cannabis declined by 5.3% MoM and was up 39.6% YoY.
Dry flower sales have materially picked up since the introduction of the OAPP but Concentrates/infused products still hold the slight majority share at 52% over the LTM period.
