Space is big business.  The Space Foundation, a nonprofit advocacy organization, reported global space activity to be $414.8 billion in 2018, with commercial space revenues representing 79 percent of total space activity.  Morgan Stanley has estimated that the global space economy will be ~ $1.1T annually by 2040. Within the US, Congress is funding government space expenditures via NASA at levels not seen since 1995 in constant $ as shown below.

CALL INVITE: TODAY @ 2:30PM FUTURE OF SPACE ECONOMY W/ CHARLES BOLDEN, FORMER NASA ADMIN - NASA Budgets FY12

There are few more qualified to discuss "where we are today" in space, the impact of the election on the US space program and the future of the commercial space industry than Charles Bolden:  US Naval Academy graduate, Marine attack pilot, test pilot, astronaut who piloted and/or commanded four space shuttle missions including the launching of the Hubbell space telescope, Marine aircraft wing commander as a Major General and NASA Administrator for both of President Obama's terms in office (2009-2017).

As Administrator, Bolden led the transformation of NASA and the US space program to embrace commercialization which is now bearing fruit in terms of a burgeoning industry and a new impetus for man to go beyond the moon.  General Bolden is still connected as nearly everyone of the nine members of the Biden transition team for NASA worked for him while he was Administrator.
