On this week's podcast, I will cover as usual a host of emerging topics on the C19 front, from overall case and death numbers to the emerging economic impact.
In particular, I plan to talk about "smart suppression" alternatives to the all-or-nothing dilemma (stop the virus or stop the economy) currently facing policy makers. Where are such approaches now being carried out successfully? What does the United States need to do to adopt such an approach?
Obviously, the fast-tracking of promising anti-virals would improve the public-health outcome no matter what approach we adopt. I will try to walk viewers through the basic biology of SARS-Cov-2 and explain how the most promising off-label anti-virals can be categorized by their impact on how the virion enters the cell and wreaks its havoc.
We will also take questions from viewers and listeners.
