We’re hosting a call on Friday, September 20th at 10am with Michael Cohen the former CFO of Flywheel Sports, one of Peloton’s closest competitors. This is going to be a hot IPO, and people will put in for stock without knowing some of the financial pitfalls and opportunities inherent to running and marketing a subscription fitness business where selling high-priced hardware is a critical part of the operating model. We’ll vet through dynamics associated with TAM, costs to sustain high customer engagement, deals with music services/content owners and many other intricacies associated with the model. This call may be on the day deal prices, but in the hype of first day trading, it will be important for people to know the risk profile of what they own. This should be a good one.
Michael Cohen has 20+ years of finance and operations experience. He was CFO of Flywheel Sports from September 2017 to July 2019. Prior to Flywheel, Michael was CFO of Birchbox for 6 years. Previous experience also includes Finance/Operations positions at Yahoo!, Associated Content, and ESPN. He has a BBA in Finance & Accounting from University of Michigan.
