In this latest issue of my weekly podcast, we take a quick look at the upbeat mood of global markets. And then we compare it with the ongoing downbeat news on global economic performance--in China, India, and Germany. And yes in the United States as well. The Fed seems certain to make just one cut in mid-September, despite growing calls for it to do more. The Dems conduct their late-summer "Climate Crisis Town Hall," eliciting some of the most outlandish and impractical "solutions" ever heard. And then a world tour of political developments heralding, for now, a check or setback to global populism. We look at AfD's performance in the recent state elections in Germany. At Matteo Salvini's exuberant rebirth as an opposition leader in Italy. And at PM Boris Johnson, who (as Mike Tyson would say) just got hit in the mouth. But in all these games, we're still in the opening rounds. There's a lot more yet to come.
