Controversial, Huge Upside, Game Is Changing | CLDR/HDP | How We Got Bullish & Why You Should Too - cldr cartoon

How could this be a triple?

  1. Grow with the use case transition; early indicators are positive such as the initial deal step up, + transition the Hortonworks installed base in the same direction
  2. Creation of the Tools category is new and drives significant upsell growth
  3. Future IoT data management is a big driver for TAM overall and both cloud + on-prem will benefit
  4. CLDR is ahead of this curve and goal is to get customers into cloud (target 60% from 26% now); in this process they have a game plan to win and they also have leverage to structure a 'win-win' with cloud leaders due to data gravity

Consider that even if only some of this is a success, you will have a stock with +/- 20% growth even a couple of years out, when you have $225MM of FCF (2020) going higher into 2021. In software EV/FCF/G works which means 20-25x FCF multiple + the $500MM of combined cash (as of today) puts this as an $8B market cap by mid-2020 when 2021 forecasts start to matter. All in all, we have 18 months of gradual execution, dispelling rumors of demise, fixing what's broken, turning to cash positive, and greater weight in key targeted categories.
