CALL INVITE: THE CHAOTIC US SECURITY ENVIRONMENT: KOREA AND IRAN Tuesday, 15 May 2PM EDT

05/09/18 05:09PM EDT

President Trump is shaking the pillars of the temple of current US national security policy with his simultaneous outreach to Kim Jong Un and unilateral rejection of the Iranian nuclear deal.  On the background of a baseline Pentagon budget that has been increased 18% in the last two years and reoriented on threats from Russia and China, current US Defense assumptions are changing before our eyes.

Join us Tuesday for a quick but insightful call with Dr. James Millerone of the nation's top strategic policy experts and former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy.  Dr. Miller has been at the table in National Security Council meetings on Korea and Iran during a very distinguished career and will help us understand how these actions on opposite sides of the globe will affect US policy going forward.

Dr. Miller served as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy from 2012 to 2014, and as Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy from 2009 to 2012. He was awarded the Department of Defense’s highest civilian award, the Medal for Distinguished Public Service, four times. Miller serves on the Board of Directors for The Atlantic Council and on the Board of Advisors for the Center for a New American Security. He is a senior fellow at Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab and at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science & International Affairs, He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and a member of the Defense Science Board, where he co-chaired a recently completed study on cyber deterrence. Miller is also the founder and CEO of Fairfax National Security Solutions, President of Adaptive Strategies, and serves on the Board of Advisors for Endgame.
