The Call @ Hedgeye | April 18, 2024

In between Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s bearish dollar comments in Davos last week (followed up by bullish comments 180 degrees different the next day by his boss, President Trump) it’s been a bumpy ride for the U.S. dollar this year.

While some "macro tourists" may be be itching to short the USD at multi-year lows, Hedgeye CEO Keith McCullough says caution is in order.

That said, a bottoming process could be occurring. Investors should be vigilant about what to do when the dollar starts to rise again.

“We don’t have an up dollar. We don’t have that call yet, but I am measuring and mapping the bottoming process,” McCullough says in the above clip from The Macro Show.

“I’m waiting and watching to see if we’ll get just that.”

What should you short when the dollar starts to go back up? Watch the video above to find out.
