  • The Senate is out until Monday, October 16th. However, they are expected to spend this week firming up support for the FY18 budget with a target of passage the following week.
  • The House is expected to discuss outlawing bump stocks.
  • The Trump Administration is expected to initiate steps to dismantle the Iran nuclear deal.
  • The House is expected to pass legislation granting the White House’s request for an additional $29 billion in hurricane relief funding.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 9:

  • The House Committee on Agriculture will hold a hearing on the 2018 Farm Bill at 10:00AM.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10:

  • The House Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing on Iran.
  • The House Committee on Energy and Commerce will hold a meeting on the opioid crisis.
  • The House Committee on Natural Resources will hold a hearing on a bill regulating the outer continental shelf.
  • The House Committee on Energy and Commerce will markup a bill to, “amend the Communications Act of 1934, to reauthorize appropriations for the Federal Communications Commission to provide for certain procedural changes to the rules of the Commission to maximize opportunities for public participation and efficient decision making and for other purposes.” at 2:00PM

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12:

  • The House Committee on Homeland Security will hold a hearing on North Korea at 2:00PM.
  • Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) will deliver a speech on tax reform.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13:

  • The House Committee on Natural Resources will hold a hearing on onshore energy policy at 9:00AM.
