Friendly reminder: There’s no rule that investors must have a position on Microsoft.

A decelerating mega-cap Tech stock is not something you want to be long, explains Keith McCullough. If anything, you’d short it. But there are plenty of other places to find shorts in #Quad4.

“[Microsoft] is a higher-risk short than something that’s bearish trade and trend, clearly. That’s why we have the rules,” McCullough says in this clip from The Macro Show. “I’d much prefer shorting Industrials, XLRE, REITs yesterday. We’re short all these things. This is just one position.”

“I actually don’t know why there’s such a fascination,” McCullough adds. “This week, the top questions were, ‘What do I do with Google? What do I do with Microsoft?’

“What do you do with your portfolio?” is a better question.
