Recent train derailments have brought public attention to railway safety. About 5,000 residents from East Palestine, Ohio were evacuated after a Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous chemicals contaminated the air and water.

“There was a bad accident, and I’m not downplaying that,” says Industrials analyst Jay Van Sciver in this clip from The Call @ Hedgeye. “But in this incredibly rare, bad accident there were no injuries and no fatalities and everyone admitted it right away and got on top of cleaning it up.”

Van Sciver cautions lawmakers about making knee jerk reaction regulation for the rail companies. Watch the entire clip from The Call above.
