This morning on The Call @ Hedgeye, veteran Technology analyst Ami Joseph discusses recent headlines that the U.S. government is trying to limit software providers supplying leading edge technology in the semiconductor industry from doing business with China.

“There is a full-scale economic war being played out, with the US government totally trying to throttle China’s efforts in the semi-conductor space,” says Joseph.

“If you woke up this morning and China had taken Taiwan, Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN) would be in big trouble,” he explains. “This wouldn’t be a small thing for the US economy and technology. It’s the kind of thing to start to think about and risk manage from a portfolio perspective.”
