Overview

We're excited to host a live Q&A on the use of AI in chronic care management with Dr. Omar Manejwala, Chief Medical Officer at DarioHealth (DRIO), which remains a Best Idea on the long side of our Position Monitor. Hedgeye Health Care Sector Head Tom Tobin will lead the discussion with Dr. Manejwala, who is board certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Medical Management, and a Distinguished Fellow of the APA and a Fellow of ASAM. We first heard Dr. Manejwala speak during a marketing event for DarioHealth titled "Learning to Do Things Differently: How Insights From Consumer Engagement are Redefining Personalization," which reinforced our belief in the upside potential we see for DRIO shares. We think there are some unique aspects of Dario’s backend and engagement model and look forward to hearing from Dr. Manejwala about how Dario’s "engine" and philosophy compare/contrast with others in the market (Omada, Teladoc/Livongo, etc.).

Discussion topics:

    • The application of AI in digital health; appropriate applications (personalized user journeys)
    • How to get members to engage and try a new chronic care app/device
    • Avoiding exit nodes (i.e., how to keep users engaged)
    • What are clients asking for and about? Is "point solution fatigue" real?
    • How wayForward (behavioral) and Upright (MSK) come together to round out the platform, which included diabetes, hypertension, and weight management to start the year

We look forward to hearing Dr. Manejwala's views on the above, as well as fielding any questions you may have.
